January 4th marked our 6th anniversary. Looking back at this picture, I cannot believe how much has happened between then and now. I once heard a talk where a man explained how much he loved his wife when they got engaged and how much he loved her now that they had been married for over 50 years. He explained how time had fortified their love. That through sharing experiences, both good and bad, their love now dwarfed the love they felt when they got married. Marriage is often cherished only for the feverish excitement of being newly weds, but I have come to realize that with each year we spend together, we grow closer. We enjoy successes together. We face trials together. While life has its ups and downs, it is nice to have someone by my side, come what may.
As a present, Rob took me to Durham, England (pics to come) and made me a delicious lemon cheesecake.
