Mirror, Mirror on the Wall, Where will the Greers go in the Fall?

One of the big questions we get from friends and family back home is "Where are you going next." This question lingers in the air because, honestly, we do not even know where we will be going. SGU has clinical placements all over the United States, but we are looking to go to one of the Clinical Centers, because as much as we love living in new and exciting places, we hate moving. A clinical center would allow us to stay in the same place for two years, and boy does this sound amazing. Anyways we are elligable for Clinical Centers in two US cities: Detroit, Michigan and New York City, New York*. Both places have things that are very enticing about them. Hear our options and let us know what you think.

Grosse Pointe, Michigan

Grosse Pointe is a beautiful suburb of Detroit and a very upscale area on Lake St. Claire. The housing market would allow us to get a decent home for not a lot of money. The schools are great and the hospital has a great reputation. We would lead a relatively normal suburban lifestyle there.

 Brooklyn, New York

There are many Clinical Centers in Brooklyn, but my favorite is in Park Slope, which is considered one of New York City's most desirable neighborhoods. Due to cost of living, we would have to sacrifice some space but we would be walking distance to Prospect Park, our ward, and the hospital. Brooklyn alone has many amazing adventures to be had in the form of zoos, botanical gardens, Coney Island, and the magic of Manhattan would be a short subway ride away. We could hit central park for a picnic in the summer and go ice skating in Rockefellar Plaza in the winter. Our life would be anything but normal but everyday would be one to remember. 

*after making this post I found out other options that were available, including one in California, so we will add that to one of the places we will request. We have submitted the paperwork, so now we get to sit back and wait until July to find out our fate.
