Our home base in Baveria was Munich, Germany. We stayed at a Marriott near the train station so we could easily travel all around Baveria. Munich was heavily damaged during WW2 but after US occupation in 1945, it was meticulously rebuilt to preserve its pre-war charm, which sets it apart from many other German cities that were rebuilt in a modern style. Because of this, the city provides beautiful old world buildings, squares and gardens. We enjoyed strolling through the different areas at sunset.
