Washington Whirlwind

Luke, Harper, Aunt Aubrey and I took a trip up to Washington to visit Grandma and Grandpa Greer on their mission. We loved spending time with them and seeing their beautiful mission. They had Zone Conference while we were there so we were able to meet their zone leaders. The missionaries showed Luke how to set up his army men and let him put suckers in each of their front shirt pockets. They even brought Elder Bear with them for Luke to meet. All the missionaries were outstanding. It is amazing what the spirit can do to a bunch of twenty year old boys. 

 Later during our visit we got to go to a real dairy. The owner had hundreds of cows and a bunch of them were just calfs. Luke got to sit down and pet one that was born that very morning. Luke was in heaven "mooing" at the cows and ended his visit snuggling with a barn cat. I doused him in hand sanitizer when we got into the car. 

Saturday morning we headed to a farmer's market. Grandpa bought Luke a small pumpkin which he proudly carried around in a plastic sag slung on h is arm. Luke has developed a strong preference for pumpkins. I blame the 5 Little Pumpkins book. Right before we left, he decided he wanted a big pumpkin too but we decided to pass since they were absurdly expensive. This resulted in a crying, kicking, screaming meltdown. I am just glad this kid is so cute :o)

During Priesthood we headed to a really cool fort park where Luke had loads of fun. Like always Harper just loved being outside and held.

The flights were surprisingly painless, thanks to Aunt Aubrey's help with the kids. Luke was fine watching Toy Story and Harper took cat naps through out the flights. Getting through security was an adventure, but it gave me a glimpse into things I can do to make my trip to England easier. By the end of the trip, we were all pretty tired but are so grateful we got to introduce Grandma and Grandpa to their newest granddaughter.
